Air Fills
The most basic dive service, and one worth checking for hours, pressure and cylinder requirements.
Air fills are the most fundamental service a dive facility provides, and the one divers most often assume without checking.
The variables that matter are opening hours, fill pressure available, whether the facility fills cylinders it did not sell, and whether a current test date is required — which it should be.
For divers travelling to regional or remote destinations, confirming fill availability before departure is worth the phone call.
Remote and regional destinations may have limited fill availability, restricted hours or a single facility that closes on particular days.
For any trip outside a major city, confirming fills — and cylinder hire if you are flying — avoids arriving with equipment you cannot use.
Breathing air must meet air quality standards, and reputable facilities test their compressor output periodically.
It is entirely reasonable to ask when a facility last tested its air quality.

Frequently asked questions
Will any shop fill my cylinder?
Most will, provided the cylinder is in current test and in acceptable condition. Some restrict fills to cylinders they have inspected.
What pressure will I get?
232 bar is standard for most recreational cylinders in Australia, with some facilities offering higher pressures for cylinders rated accordingly.
