Scuba training agencies in Australia

Agencies establish standards, materials and certification pathways. They are not interchangeable with an Australian government occupational-diving licence, and the logo on the door tells you less than most divers assume.

Agency locators naturally concentrate on their own networks. A PADI search will emphasise PADI centres; an SSI directory will emphasise SSI Training Centers; SDI and TDI cover another section of the market; RAID and IANTD become particularly relevant when advanced technical training is included.

The CDAA sits apart from all of them. It is not a general training agency but the body governing cave and sinkhole diving access in Australia, and for anyone intending to dive Mount Gambier it matters more than any of the others.

The practical point is that two centres carrying the same logo can offer completely different services. The agency guarantees the standards a course follows. The instructor and the facility determine everything else.
