Rebreather Association of International Divers

RAID

A digital-native agency offering recreational, technical and closed-circuit pathways.

RAID began with a rebreather focus, as its name suggests, and has since developed a full range of recreational and technical open-circuit programmes alongside its closed-circuit pathways.

Its materials are entirely digital and its course structure places noticeable emphasis on buoyancy, trim and propulsion from the entry level onward — skills that other agencies often defer to later specialties.

It is less widely represented in Australia than PADI or SSI but has a presence among technically-oriented centres.

Recognition

RAID certifications are recognised internationally and accepted by operators alongside the larger agencies, though the brand is less familiar to some staff than PADI or SSI.

In practice this rarely causes difficulty, but divers travelling with less common certifications sometimes find it worth carrying a logbook as well as a card.
