Dive services in Australia

The services that keep divers diving — servicing, testing, fills, hire and retail. These are the capabilities that separate a business you can rely on all year from one you visit on holiday.

A dive shop and a dive centre are not always the same thing. Some businesses mainly sell equipment, some mainly teach, some run boats, and some do all three.

For a diver who dives regularly, the workshop matters as much as the classroom. A centre that cannot service your regulator, test your cylinders or fill the gas you need is only solving part of the problem.

Each service page below explains what the service actually involves, what varies between providers, and the specific things worth confirming before you depend on it.

Technical gas

Oxygen, helium, Trimix and rebreather support are documented separately under technical gas, because a centre filling recreational Nitrox is not necessarily equipped to handle high-oxygen decompression gases or blend Trimix.
