Port Phillip Heads contains some of Australia's most dramatic wall diving. The shallower sections are within reach of competent recreational divers on slack water; the deeper sections are a genuine technical undertaking.

The Ships' Graveyard outside the bay is the other major destination — numerous deliberately scuttled vessels across a wide depth range, from accessible recreational profiles to depths requiring Trimix and full decompression planning.

That continuity is unusual and valuable: divers can build experience on the same terrain as they train, which is part of why Victoria's technical community is as developed as it is.

Worth establishing: the technical agency and maximum course level; whether helium and Trimix are blended and how reliable supply is; CCR support and which units; whether the operation runs its own vessel and how trips are scheduled around tides; stage cylinder and technical equipment hire; and cylinder oxygen cleaning and testing. For Heads diving specifically, ask how slack-water timing is handled.
